I bet you thought we'd forgotten, didn'tya?  I bet you were all relieved and thinking you'd have July all to yourself and you weren't going to have to come up with the best freaking short prose of your life for a whole month of days according to the whims of a sadistic multi-headed quasi-demonic entity this year, didn'tya?
You were wrong.
To prove how wrong you were, sign up below.  In your signup, let us know either:

:bulletgreen: What is Flash Fiction Month all about?
Flash Fiction Month is an annual community writing event, run every year in July, in which participants write one piece of flash fiction every day for a month. Every day we will post prompts to help kick-start your creativity, as well as optional weekly challenges (and prizes!) for those of you who like a little competition.
:bulletgreen: What is Flash Fiction?
Flash Fiction is simply very short prose pieces, generally defined as being 1000 words or less. The word limits for Flash Fiction Month are 55 words minimum, to 1000 words maximum.  If your stories do not meet this word count requirement then we cannot accept them.
See below for further flash fiction writing resources!

Yes. No. Whatever you ca
Official FFM Prompt Bank 2014:iconflash-fic-month:
This promptmobile has been parked up rusting for a whole year.  It needs an oil change, a lick of paint and some air in the tyres. We're presently sourcing some fluffy dice for the mirror and a nice novelty airfreshener.
Most importantly, though, the tank is dry as a bone.
Time to siphon us off some promptjuice.  Fuel us up with your best original prompts for people to dip into during the month when they need creative jump leads.
As always, the chosen few will be chosen, featured and credited in our daily updates.
:star:Protip: We can always use visual prompts, musical prompts, prompts in the form of interpretive dance and other variegated promptitudinousness as well as the usual prompts made of words.:star:
VIVA LA FFM!
FFM Links - July 7, 2014Welcome to Flash Fiction Month 2014, Day SIETE.
It's the end of week one.  You've all done great stuff so far (terrible, but great).
We have been getting a lot of complaints it is all a bit too easy this year.  Never fear, We're going to ramp up the difficulty incrementally every week.  Heh.
A lot of people have requested time extensions for various challenges because of lack of internet access or because of real life stuff.  As a recognition that many of you human types appear to live in the real world and have stuff going on, we're not going to police the posting times especially hard this year. As long as you're all caught up in time to post your stuff on the week one journal before the judging starts you'll be in.  I'm posting that journal today, but you've got until Thursday before judging starts.
Another day off challenges.  Get to filling that ol'

Woo!  Yeah!  One week completely down!  This is going to be a breeze, right?
It's the start of week two and everyone has had two whole challenge-free days.  I'm ramping up the difficulty a little with this week's challenges, from easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy to ooh, this might be a bit tricky mode.  Good luck, and keep right on ficcin'.
Today is the fourth CHALLENGE of the month.  Find out more below.

*Bringing a bit of Welsh into the mix.  Who says you don't learn anything during FFM?
There is no challenge today, so write what you like and like what you write.
It would be good to see some more people in the FFM chatroom. If you pop in and there's not much going on, why not start something?
